How to Staff for Cost Effective Weddings & Events



For large weddings, you will need to hire staff to assist with serving the meal and clearing the plates.  This is all included in the “Service” part of your catering bill.  The charges for service for a large wedding can quickly spiral out of control.  Complex plans, plated meals, full-service bar and a difficult logistical venue can severely increase the service cost for bartenders, servers, and kitchen staff.  Since no caterer would want to understaff a wedding, they typically tend to hire more than may be required as no one wants to be responsible ruining a wedding.  


We work with our customers to set expectations.  If the wedding party will help with setup, takedown, and will be patient while we are clearing dishes, we can easily cut 2-3 people from the service saving $500-$700.
